Kejriwal pledges to waive-off inflated water bills if AAP wins

New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday vowed to waive incorrect water bills post-election victory, marking it as his 6th guarantee to the people of Delhi.

Addressing the media, Kejriwal alleged BJP of mismanagement that led to inflated water bills for the people of Delhi.

“Every month, 20,000 liters of water is provided free to every family. In Delhi, the water bills of more than 12 lakh families used to come to zero. But when I went to jail, I don’t know what these people (BJP) did behind my back,” Kejriwal said, accusing BJP.

“The BJP has created a mess to the extent that people are now receiving water bills amounting to thousands, and in some cases, even lakhs of rupees every month. This has caused immense distress among the people of Delhi. We cannot stand by and let our citizens suffer due to these inflated and incorrect bills,” he asserted.

“I have made this announcement on many platforms, but today, I want to formally and publicly declare: For anyone receiving exorbitant or incorrect water bills—amounting to thousands or lakhs—you don’t need to pay them. These bills are wrong, and I urge you to wait,” Kejriwal said.

“After the elections, the AAP will form the government, and we will ensure that these inflated and erroneous bills are waived off. This is my promise and guarantee to everyone. So, there is no need for anyone to worry or be distressed—the AAP stands with the people,” he added.
