BJP Delhi Pradesh president Manoj Tiwari on Monday said the laying of foundation of the Chandrawal Plant to augment the water supply in Delhi and installation of CCTVs cameras is a fraud with the people and this is only an effort to show that Arvind Kejriwal Government is working in view of the upcoming Assembly Elections.
‘These works should have been done during the last four and half years by Mr Kejriwal. After failing to fulfill the promises made to the people of Delhi, efforts are being made to mislead the people in the election year,’ he said addressing the mediapersons.
‘Mr Kejriwal could not install CCTV cameras, provide new buses and depute marshals in the city, wi-fi, ‘Bijli Half-Pani Maaf’ which were promised during the Elections. When the people of Delhi found that no work was done on the ground then they did not support the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidates in MCD Elections and after that in the Lok Sabha Elections.
By misusing the money paid by the taxpayers of Delhi on advertisements for cheap popularity, Mr Kejriwal has himself proved that who was the hindrance in the development of Delhi during the last four and half years?,’ he said.
Mr Tiwari said that from time to time BJP has fought for the cause of the people of Delhi against the Delhi Government.
‘We also pressurised the government to fulfill the promises made by the AAP during the elections but Mr Kejriwal’s Government not only indulge in the politics of accusing others but also deliberately delayed the development works. Now the question arises why the AAP did not start the work of Chandrawal Plant for solving the problem of water and installed CCTVs cameras during the last four and half years. In view of upcoming Assembly Elections, he is making new announcements everyday and also trying to get cheap popularity through the media and trying to show that he is in the Election Mode,’ he said.
Mr Tiwari said that the meeting of Mr Kejriwal with Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also a part of this gimmick.
‘After four and five years, Mr Kejriwal is now bethinking about the cooperation with Central Government for the development of Delhi. Had Mr Kejriwal cooperated with Centre the problem of water and power could not become serious and if worked seriously for the development of Delhi with cooperation of Central Government then Delhi may not have become number one in pollution.
Mr Kejriwal has always tried to obstruct the development of Delhi by opposing the Central Government. AAP has also deprived the people of the benefits of public welfare schemes launched by Centre,’ he said.
Mr Tiwari also said that with increasing heat, the water crisis is also becoming grave in Delhi but the Government has no emergency action plan.
‘Mr Kejriwal is responsible for deteriorating conditions of Delhi. The annual budget of Delhi Government is of Rs 50,000 crore but it has not utilised it for Swacchh Bharat or Aayushman Bharat Yojna,’ he said.
‘Mr Kejriwal is misusing the public fund on political advertisements and the BJP has been exposing it from time to time. The AAP leaders are apprehensive of their defeat in the Assembly Elections and hence they are making promises every day. If Kejriwal is worried about the development of Delhi then he should implement the Central Government Aayushman Bharat and Pradhanmantri Aawas Yojna in Delhi,’ he added.
