Kejriwal breaks down after Court discharges him, Sisodia in Delhi excise policy case

New Delhi, February 27 (UNI) Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal broke down in tears while speaking to mediapersons outside the Rouse Avenue Court on Friday after the court discharged all 23, including him and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the Delhi excise policy case, commonly referred to as the “Liquorgate” matter.

Addressing reporters, Kejriwal said that the court had discharged all the accused in the case and reiterated his faith in the judicial system. He alleged that the case was part of a political conspiracy aimed at weakening his party, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). “We have always said that truth ultimately prevails. We have full faith in the Indian legal system,” he said, while denying allegations of corruption against himself and his colleagues.

“BJP was making allegations against us, but the court acquitted everyone, truth has prevailed,” Kejriwal said, breaking down during the interaction.

“(Union Home Minister) Amit Shah and (Prime Minister) Modi ji together hatched the biggest political conspiracy to finish the Aam Aadmi Party, and five big leaders of the party were put in jail.

Reacting to the court’s order, Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Arvind Kejriwal, posted on X in Hindi, stating that no matter how powerful a person may become, no one is above divine justice, and that truth always triumphs.

Manish Sisodia, in his post on X, said he felt proud of the Constitution drafted under the vision of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and asserted that despite repeated attempts to brand them as dishonest, the court’s decision had reaffirmed their stand.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also welcomed the order, claiming it exposed what he described as a larger conspiracy to malign the party and its leaders. In his statement on X, he accused the ruling dispensation at the Centre of misusing investigative agencies and demanded an apology.

Meanwhile, Advocate Vivek Jain, counsel for Arvind Kejriwal, said the court had carefully examined all evidence presented by the CBI and found that none of the allegations met the legal threshold required to frame charges.
