Kathua encounter: SFs recover haul of arms, and ammo from site

Jammu, Sep 29 (UNI) Security forces have recovered a haul of arms and ammunition from the site of the gunfight underway at the remote belt of Billawar in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A Defence spokesman said that under operation #OpKUAIG launched by Rising Star Corps and Jammu and Kashmir Police, in the general area of Dhanuparole, in Machhedi, district Kathua, one terrorist was killed and warlike stores recovered.

The operation is still in progress, he said.

A police spokesman said in continuation to dealing with the encounter in village Kog (Mandli) in Billawar, one terrorist has been killed in the operation.

On Saturday evening, one Head Constable of J&K Police Bashir Ahmed, made a supreme sacrifice in killing the terrorist.

The other injured police personnel Sukhbir, Dy SP Operations, and ASI Niaz Ahmed are stable and are being treated.

Anand Jain, ADGP, Jammu Zone, and Shiv Sharma, DIG Jammu are on the spot and supervising the operation.

“The search operation for the other terrorist is still going on,” the spokesman added.
