Mumbai, Nov 27 (UNI) Reflecting on the multiple shooting attacks on his Vancouver café, Kapil Sharma said the situation became serious enough to be discussed in the Canadian Parliament, but he emphasized that he has always felt completely safe in Mumbai, thanks to the city’s formidable police force
Speaking at the trailer launch of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 in Mumbai, Kapil said, “These incidents happened in Canada, in Vancouver. I think there were three shootings there. I don’t think the police there have the power to control things. But after our case, the matter went to federal court and was discussed in the Canadian Parliament.”
He added that several people had told him such activities were already ongoing in the area, but after the shooting at his café became widely reported, authorities began taking stronger steps to improve law and order.
Kapil emphasized that he has always felt safe in Mumbai, “I never feel like this in Mumbai or in my country. There’s no one like our Mumbai Police.”
Despite the incidents, he said business eventually recovered, “After all the gunfire there, we saw a bigger opening in our café. If God is with you, everything is fine.”
In October, Kapil’s Vancouver café was reportedly targeted once again. According to City News Vancouver, the Surrey Police Service (SPS) began investigating after shots were fired at Kap’s Café on 85 Avenue and 120 Street around 3:45 am. A social media post attributed to Kulvir Sidhu, reportedly linked to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s network, claimed responsibility.
The post stated: “Today’s firing at Caps Café, Surrey, was carried out by me, Kulvir Sidhu, and Goldy Dhillon… Those who owe us or cheat us will be warned. Bollywood individuals who speak against our religion should also be prepared, bullets can come from anywhere.”
Staff were reportedly inside the café during the shooting, but no injuries occurred. Kapil Sharma and his team have yet to issue a statement.
This marked the third attack on his Canadian café since July, with earlier incidents reported on July 10 and August 8.
