Bhopal – The 647th birth anniversary of Sant Kabir was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm under the leadership of the All India Koli Society (Regd.), New Delhi – Madhya Pradesh Branch, along with several affiliated organizations. The celebrations took place near the Kabir Stambh at Shastri Chowk, opposite the Old Vidhan Sabha, a site established earlier by the Madhya Pradesh government.
Following tradition, the event began with garlanding Sant Kabir’s portrait and decorating the memorial with floral tributes. Devotees from across the community visited throughout the day to pay their respects, continuing from morning till late evening.
Bhopal Mayor Smt. Malti Rai attended as the chief guest, along with regional and state leaders including Pappu Vilas, Balwant Singh Shakya, Arvind Verma, Ganesh Ram Shakya, and several other prominent community members. All offered floral tributes and honored the saint’s legacy.
In her address, Mayor Rai emphasized the timeless relevance of Sant Kabir’s teachings and encouraged all to walk the path of truth, harmony, and spiritual wisdom. She also praised the profound simplicity of his couplets, noting their power to bring inner peace and reflection.
