Jammu, June 13 (UNI) Police have detained 50 individuals in connection with the June 9 terrorist attack on a bus carrying pilgrims in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Following an intensive probe, the police have expanded their search into far-flung remote areas to expel hiding militants.
The bus was attacked in the Kanda area of Pouni that left 10 people dead and 33 injured.
The police spokesman on Thursday said that the detentions were following an intensive police investigation in the Kanda area in which significant leads were uncovered, aiding in the identification and capture of those who may potentially be involved in orchestrating the attack.
“To ensure a comprehensive probe, search operations have been expanded to encompass the far-flung areas of Arnas and Mahore. These operations aim to uncover further evidence and apprehend terrorists who may be hiding in these remote regions,” said the spokesman.
He added that the law enforcement agencies are committed to bringing the perpetrators to justice and ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors in the area.
Senior Superintendents of Police Reasi Mohita Sharma urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
