J&K: Gunfight breaks out between SFs & terrorists in Doda

Jammu, July 18 (UNI) A fresh encounter has been reported on Thursday morning in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources said that during a search operation, a joint team of security forces established contact with the terrorists.

“Exchange of bullets triggered a gunfight, while intermittent firing is reported from both sides,” they said.

However, more details are awaited.

Earlier on Wednesday, security forces exchanged fire with terrorists in the Desa forest area of Doda district.

The Village Defence Guards (VDGs) also opened fire on observing a suspicious movement outside their village in Kalaan Bhata and near Panchan Bhata.

On Monday, four army personnel, including one captain, were killed in an ambush laid by the terrorists in Desa area of Doda.
