It takes courage to speak truth: Soha applauds Aishwarya Mohanraj

New Delhi, Feb 12 (UNI) Soha Ali Khan is speaking up about the recent buzz around weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, especially after public figures shared their experiences. The actress recently praised comedian-influencer Aishwarya Mohanraj, who openly discussed her weight-loss journey using Mounjaro, a prescription-only medication.

Mohanraj’s candid video about the drug sparked both support and criticism online. Responding on Instagram, Soha Ali Khan applauded her honesty. She said in a video post: “So, finally someone said it. They lost a ton of weight not just by eating right or working out, but by taking Mounjaro. And I think it takes great courage to speak the truth.”

Soha also stressed the importance of medical oversight, drawing attention to a key point from Aishwarya’s video. “Ozempic and Mounjaro aren’t weight loss trends. They are serious medical treatments, and they are only meant for certain people,” she noted.

The actress emphasized that weight loss isn’t solely about willpower. She explained that factors like hormones, insulin resistance, PCOS, thyroid issues, and a slowing metabolism often play a bigger role than effort alone.

She added, “Injections can help, but they are serious, and they have side effects. They need tests and medical supervision. So instead of asking who is taking it, we should ask ourselves, who really needs it?”

Earlier this week, Mohanraj shared her own journey, opening up about personal struggles.

“My most insane and biggest insecurity was my double chin. I stopped making videos. I stopped coming online because I couldn’t see myself. I took this drug every week for 6 months. In these 6 months, my weight reduced from 74 kg to 52 kilograms. It’s rapid. It’s mad. It’s crazy and insane,” she said.
