Jerusalem, July 15 (UNI) Israeli EuroLeague club Maccabi Tel Aviv announced on Sunday the signing of American guard Jordan Loyd on a two-season contract.
Loyd played 12 games for the Toronto Raptors during the 2018-19 season, contributing to the team’s first-ever NBA title win. He averaged 2.4 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game.
Over the past five seasons, he has played in the EuroLeague for Valencia, Red Star Be
lgrade, Zenit Saint Petersburg and Monaco, with whom he won the French LNB League title twice and the French Cup once.
His overall EuroLeague averages include 13.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1 steal per game in 124 games.
Maccabi is Loyd’s second Israeli team in his career, after having played for one season with Hapoel Eilat before joining Toronto and after playing college basketball in Furman and Indianapolis.
“I played so many times in front of Maccabi fans in Tel Aviv, and I always knew that one day I would play for them,” Loyd said. “It’s finally happening and I’m looking forward to the support and love.”
