Beirut, (UNI) An Israeli military drone attacked a home in the southern Lebanese village of Houla near the border with Israel, killing one person and injuring two others, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health said on Monday.
“One person was killed in an attack by an Israeli unmanned aerial vehicle on a building in the Houla village, while two others were injured,” the statement read.
A Lebanese source told Sputnik that the drone targeted a member of the Lebanese Shiite movement Hezbollah.
The Israeli military fired at targets in the southern Lebanese village of Kfarkela, while Israeli warplanes struck the village of Kfarchouba.
Tensions on the Israeli-Lebanese border escalated after Israel started a military operation in the Gaza Strip in October 2023. The Israeli military and Hezbollah have been exchanging cross-border fire almost daily.
