- Highest ever export of Rs 66,218 crore
Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh has made significant strides in its export performance during the financial year 2024-25, achieving a record export value of Rs 66,218 crore. This marks a 6% increase from the previous year, driven primarily by robust growth in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, and soy products.
According to the latest report from the Federation of Indian Export Organizations (FIEO), merchandise exports accounted for Rs 66,218 crore, while information technology companies operating in the Special Economic Zone contributed an additional Rs 4,038 crore to the state’s export portfolio. As a result of this economic development, Madhya Pradesh has improved its national export ranking from 15th to 11th.
Expansion of industrial base and better infra
The report highlights that Madhya Pradesh’s enhanced export ranking aligns with global market standards, particularly through the integration of pharmaceuticals, engineering goods, and soya-based agricultural products. Key factors contributing to this growth include investment-friendly industrial development policies and an expanding industrial base. Additionally, improvements in infrastructure that facilitate exports and the growing interest of international markets in Madhya Pradesh have played a crucial role.
Significant export markets in many countries
In previous years, the state’s top export sectors included pharmaceuticals, animal feed, machinery, aluminum, and textiles. Madhya Pradesh has established significant export markets in countries such as Bangladesh, France, the UAE, and the Netherlands, with the United States being the largest market for pharmaceuticals and machinery.
