Kochi, May 22 (UNI) In a pioneering effort to transform the diagnosis and treatment of Interstitial Lung Diseases (ILD), ‘BuILD Summit 2025,’ the first-ever ILD-focused medical summit in South India, will be held here on May 24 and 25.
Interstitial Lung Diseases are a group of serious lung conditions caused by scarring and thickening of lung tissue, which severely impairs breathing.
Many patients experience delayed diagnosis, making treatment less effective. BuILD Summit-2025 aims to address this critical gap by offering a comprehensive platform for knowledge sharing, clinical training, and the exploration of cutting-edge treatment strategies.
Organized under the leadership of Dr. Asmita Mehta, Head of the Respiratory Medicine Department at Amrita Hospital Kochi, the summit will bring together over a hundred leading experts in the field.
Esteemed international and national speakers include Dr. Athol Wells, Consultant Respiratory Physician at Royal Brompton Hospital and Professor at Imperial College London; Prof. Claudia Ravaglia from Italy; Dr. Amila Rathnapala from Sri Lanka; and renowned Indian ILD specialists Dr. Deepak Talwar and Dr. Sujeet Rajan.
BuILD Summit will serve as an interdisciplinary platform where pulmonologists, radiologists, pathologists, and rheumatologists collaborate to make unified clinical decisions. This integrated approach is expected to significantly advance the standards of care for ILD patients.
With its focus on innovation, education, and collaboration, BuILD Summit 2025 is poised to become a landmark event in the landscape of pulmonary healthcare in India.
