Jakarta, July 30 (UNI) The 2025 Southeast Asian Kurash Championship (KUSEA) will take place in Indonesia’s West Nusa Tenggara province from August 28 to September 1, according to Vibrianti Savitri, head of the KUSEA 2025 Committee.
The competition will feature two categories: indoor kurash and beach kurash (outdoor), each with 27 classes, totaling 54 matches over the five-day event. Indonesia aims to secure the overall championship title.
“All of our athletes have international competition experience, and we are confident that Indonesia will bring home many medals,” Savitri said.
Seven countries and regions have confirmed their participation so far, including Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Myanmar, with one more yet to confirm.
Approximately 300 athletes are expected to compete, with Indonesia having 98 participants. The championship will be held in the Senggigi Beach area in West Lombok Regency, a popular tourist destination.
