Saharanpur (UP), October 26 (UNI) Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat on Thursday while describing the merits of religion, Indian philosophy, thinking and best conduct said that it is the duty of every Indian to give the right message of religion to the entire world.
He was addressing the ceremony after performing the Bhoomi Pujan of Shri Krishna Temple near Sarsawa. The ceremony was organised by followers of the Mahanubhava sect, a 12th-century Indian saint and philosopher and social reformer from Maharashtra.
One of their prominent saints, Anup Muni, is the founder of Shri Krishna Gyan Mandir located in Pant Nagar, Saharanpur. Bhagwat also participated in the Silver Jubilee Festival of this temple.
The RSS chief said that he feels great joy and satisfaction after being among the saints and he always gladly accepts invitations from saints and spiritual personalities and institutions whenever the time permits. He said that the speciality of the religion is to keep everyone together which gives happiness and brings progress.
He described the teachings of Lord Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita as the essence of religion and said that practising it is to follow the religion. “Lord Shri Krishna has given the most importance of four qualities in . truth, compassion, prudence and penance (to work hard) in Gita,” he said.
Bhagwat said following this threshold, that is following these four points, is Dharma and steps beyond it are Adharma. He said that the religion of the whole world is the same and it has not been created by anyone.
He said that despite sects they all give the message of one God. He said that religion is a matter of conduct and it should be followed.
He said whatever a person does, he must do it efficiently and well.
The RSS chief also mentioned Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak’s commentary on Gita and his inspirational life. “Tilak said that no work is big or small. Do it right and excel, don’t be arrogant and give God the credit for your success,” he said.
He said humans should not run away from any situation in life. “We must face it boldly. Even if a person dies while fighting, he will become immortal,” he said.
Bhagwat urged the people to remain calm in happiness and sorrow and have equal vision. He said that there should be no fickleness of mind and be patient.
While rejecting untouchability, inequality and discrimination in Indian society, he said: “We should look at everyone equally. Everyone should be treated as one’s own. Man should not discriminate between men.” he said.
The RSS chief said that Bharat was there before history, it is and will continue to remain Bharat in future. He said that nature needs religion.
He said, “Destiny has given us the task of implementing religion in our behaviour. This is the message we have to give to the entire world. If we follow our religion then religion protects us. This is the speciality of India.”
Bhagwat said that today’s India is powerful. “We want to tell the world that we are not anyone’s enemy. We help everyone. The wickedness of the wicked cannot do us any harm,” he said.
