INDIAN COAST GUARD TO CELEBRATE 11TH INTERNATIONAL DAY OF YOGA WITH “YOGA SANGAM”

New Delhi, 20 Jue 2025: In a resounding display of unity and commitment to wellness, Indian Coast Guard (ICG) is set to celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on 21 Jun 2025 through its flagship event, “Yoga Sangam.” Aligned with the AYUSH Ministry’s global theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” the celebration reaffirms the ICG’s dedication to holistic well being that transcends borders, professions, and cultures.

As a prelude to the main event, the ICG has conducted a month long series of Yoga Outreach Programmes across its extensive network of stations along the coastline and island territories. These programmes were held in collaboration with leading yoga and wellness organisations such as the Brahma Kumaris, Heartfulness Institute, Eco Yoga Schools, and others. A special session was also conducted at the majestic Sudarshan Setu, symbolizing the unity of tradition and modern infrastructure.

Thousands of Coast Guard personnel and their families actively participated in these initiatives, which were guided by trained yoga instructors. The sessions featured a holistic combination of asanas (yogic postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques, aimed at enhancing physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

The central event will take place in the Delhi NCR region at Coast Guard Complex, Sector 24, Noida, in collaboration with Yog Vandana Institute, and will be graced by the presence of Director General Paramesh Sivamani, AVSM, PTM, TM, Director General, Indian Coast Guard. Simultaneously, yoga sessions will be conducted at all Coast Guard stations across the country’s coastal and island regions.

A renowned instructor from Yog Vandana Institute, accompanied by a team of expert practitioners, will lead the main session, offering participants a deeply immersive experience in the discipline and philosophy of yoga.

“Yoga Sangam” is not only a celebration of International Day of Yoga but also a testament to the Indian Coast Guard’s enduring commitment to promoting a culture of health, discipline, and mindfulness among its personnel and their families.
