Indian, British agencies working together on extradition of economic offenders : PM

New Delhi/London, July 24 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said Indian and British
agencies would continue to work together in close coordination and cooperation on the matter of
extradition of economic offenders.

‘’On the matter of extradition of economic offenders as well, our agencies will continue to work together in close coordination and cooperation,’’ the Prime Minister said in his remarks at the Joint Press Statement along with his British counterpart Keir Starmer after the two countries signed the landmark Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Earlier the Congress took a jibe at the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) saying another effective “FTA — Fugitive Transfer Agreement” was needed.
In a post on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “What India needs from the UK is the announcement of another and more effective FTA (Fugitive Transfer Agreement)”.

“After all, three stars are still waiting for their ghar waapsi — Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, and Lalit Modi. There may well be others too,” he added.
