Colombo, Aug 12 (UNI) The India-Sri Lanka passenger ferry service is set to resume operations on August 16 between Kankesanthurai in Sri Lanka and Nagapattinam in Tamil Nadu, IndSri Ferry Service Pvt. Ltd. announced on Monday, said media reports.
Online ticket sales will commence at midnight on August 13 at Nagapattinam Port.
According to the Daily Mirror, S. Niranjan Nandagopan, managing director of the company, said, “Our passenger vessel, ‘Sivagangai,’ is all set to resume ferry services between the countries.”
The service, initially scheduled to begin on May 13, was delayed due to the late delivery of the ferry and necessary compliance requirements.
