New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) Union Minister for New Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi on Wednesday said there is a need to make energy transition a “mass movement” to secure energy security for the country.
Addressing a curtain raiser press conference at his residence here on the upcoming 4th Global Renewable Energy Investors Meet & Expo (RE-INVEST 2024) summit, the Minister said, “Only collective efforts can ensure a sustainable and secure energy future for all.”
Giving outlook of India’s renewable energy scenario Pralhad Joshi said “India requires an investment of Rs. 30 Lac Crores to achieve its target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel installed capacity by 2030.”
Pralhad Joshi said, “India recognizes the importance of building a green sustainable future for the next generation, and at the core of this lies Prime Minister’s vision of Panchamrit and installing 500 GW of non-fossil power by 2030.”
“This is not a dream but a collective goal that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set, he added.
The three day conference from 16 to 18 September 2024 will be held at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Gujarat and will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As the Ministry, Australia, Denmark, Germany and Norway are the Partner Countries for summit, while Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Karnataka & Uttar Pradesh are the Partner States for the event.
Pralhad Joshi also informed that the conference is expected to see participation of over 10,000 delegates.
” It will constitute 44 sessions, including a Chief Ministerial Plenary, a CEO Roundtable and several State, country, and technical sessions” he informed.
The RE-INVEST 2024 aims to highlight India’s significant achievement in the renewable energy sector including manufacturing and deployment.
The central theme will be the Mission 500 GW, which underscores India’s strategic goal to expand its renewable energy capacity significantly by 2030.
“As the 4th largest country globally in installed renewable energy capacity, India aims to further consolidate its leadership in the global energy transition” said the Ministry.
