India dismiss Bangladesh for 127 in first T20I

Gwalior, Oct 6 (UNI) Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakravarthy were the standout performers as India delivered a commanding display against Bangladesh in the first T20I at the Gwalior Cricket Stadium, restricting their opponents to just 127 runs in 19.5 overs here on Sunday.

India won the toss and elected to field first, setting the stage for a relentless bowling assault. Arshdeep led the charge, claiming three wickets for a mere 14 runs in 3.5 overs. His crucial scalps included the dismissals of Litton Das and Parvez Hossain Emron, leaving the Bangladeshi batting order reeling.

Varun complemented Arshdeep’s efforts effectively, taking three wickets for 31 runs. Together, the duo’s exceptional bowling ensured that Bangladesh struggled to establish any significant partnerships throughout their innings.

Najmul Hossain Shanto scored 27 runs off 25 balls, but his efforts could not prevent a batting collapse. Mehidy Hasan Miraz contributed 35 off 32 balls, yet the team found it increasingly difficult to cope with India’s effective mix of pace and spin. Ultimately, only five Bangladeshi players managed to reach double figures.

With their bowlers setting a solid foundation, India look poised for a strong run in the three-match T20I series, capitalising on the impressive performances of Arshdeep and Varun.
