India AI Mission accelerates nation’s digital leadership: CM

  • India Ranks Third in Global AI Index 2025;

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the India AI Mission is playing a decisive role in building national-level artificial intelligence infrastructure and positioning India as a global AI leader. With India securing third place in the Global AI Ranking 2025, AI has been adopted as a strategic tool to boost productivity by leveraging the country’s IT talent, demographic dividend, and robust digital public infrastructure.

= AI Kosh and GPU Support for Startups

Dr. Yadav highlighted that the AI Kosh platform offers access to over 6,250 indigenous datasets along with sandbox tools and free computing. Nearly 38,000 GPUs are being deployed at subsidised rates, while 12 startups are being supported to develop indigenous Large and Small Language Models.

= AI Transforming Healthcare and Services

He cited examples such as AI-based TB screening using chest X-rays by KRAI Diagnostics, now implemented in more than 105 countries. AI-driven solutions are also improving government call centres and grievance redressal systems, reducing costs and enhancing citizen satisfaction.

= Focus on Talent and Governance

Under the ‘AI for All’ programme, 570 AI and Data Labs are being established nationwide, offering courses, fellowships, and research support. The integration of AI with GIS, drones, and satellite imagery is strengthening planning in urban development, water management, and mining.

= Infrastructure Key to Future Growth

The CM stressed that secure, resilient AI infrastructure, sovereign data systems, and trustworthy governance are essential. AI, he said, is no longer optional but a core necessity for economic growth, social welfare, and India’s long-term digital leadership.
