India A beat Bangladesh A to win Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026

Bangkok, Feb 22 (UNI) India A clinched the Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars 2026 title with a convincing 46-run victory over Bangladesh A in the final at the Terdthai Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Opting to bat first, India A posted a competitive 134 for seven in 20 overs, riding on a composed unbeaten 51 off 34 balls by Tejal Hasabnis, as per Olympics.com.

Her innings, which included three fours and two sixes, anchored the Indian effort after an early collapse. Bangladesh A’s Fahima Khatun was the pick of the bowlers with impressive figures of 4 for 25.

India A had a cautious start through openers Nandini Kashyap and Vrinda Dinesh before Vrinda was dismissed for 19 in the sixth over. The innings soon ran into trouble as Nandini, Minnu Mani, and Anushka Sharma fell in quick succession, leaving the side struggling at 44 for four.

Hasabnis then steadied the innings with confident strokeplay and found solid support in captain Radha Yadav, who scored 36 off 30 deliveries. The duo stitched together a crucial 69-run partnership for the fifth wicket to revive the innings and guide India A past the 130-run mark.

In reply, Bangladesh A never gained momentum and were bowled out for 88 in 19.1 overs. Wicketkeeper Shamima Sultana offered some resistance with a quick 20 off 15 balls, but her dismissal in the seventh over halted the chase.

Prema Rawat led India A’s bowling attack with outstanding figures of 3 for 12, while Sonia Mendhiya and Tanuja Kanwar supported well with two wickets each to seal the victory.

Organised by the Asian Cricket Council(ACC), the tournament was first held in 2023 as the Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup, with India winning the inaugural edition in Hong Kong after defeating Bangladesh A in the final.

Brief scores: India A 134/7 in 20 overs (Tejal Hasabnis 51 not out; Fahima Khatun 4/25) beat Bangladesh A 88 all out in 19.1 overs (Shamima Sultana 20; Prema Rawat 3/12) by 46 runs.
