Puri, Kejriwal flag off Majlis Park-Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus metro corridor

New Delhi, The 21 point 56 kilometre long Majlis Park – Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro corridor was formally flagged off by Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs (Independent Charge) Hardeep Singh Puri and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday. The Metro corridor was flagged off by both Mr Puri and Mr Kejriwal from Metro Bhawan at 1600 hrs.This section is part of the 59 kilometre long Majlis Park – Shiv Vihar corridor (Pink Line – Line 7) of Delhi Metro’s Phase 3. Passenger services on the stretch will begin from 1800 hrs this evening from the Majlis Park and Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus stations simultaneously. There are 12 stations on this corridor. The stations are: Majlis Park (E), Azadpur (UG), Shalimar Bagh (UG), Netaji Subhash Place (UG), Shakurpur (E), Punjabi Bagh West (E), ESI Hospital (E), Rajouri Garden (E), Mayapuri (E), Naraina Vihar (UG), Delhi Cantt (E) and Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus (E). Out of 12 stations, 4 stations are underground (UG) and 8 Stations are elevated (E). The 21.56 kilometre long Majlis Park - Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro section of the Majlis Park – Shiv Vihar corridor of Phase 3 is going to significantly boost the connectivity between North Delhi, Ring Road and south Delhi localities such as RK Puram, Satya Niketan, Moti Bagh etc.
