8 police personnel injured in militant grenade attack in Pulwama

Agencies, Srinagar Eight police personnel, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), were injured in a grenade attack by militants near Pulwama police station in south Kashmir. A police spokesperson said that militants hurled a grenade near Police station Pulwama, resulting in injuries to eight policemen, including an ASI. “The injured were immediately taken to District Hospital Pulwama from where two of them, ASI Mohammad Shafi Chowdery and Head Constable (HC) Ghulam Nabi Wagay, were referred to 92 Base Hospital Badamibagh,” he said. The other injured have been identified as HC Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat, HC Jagdesh Raj, Selection Grade Constable (SgCT) Bilal Ahmad Mir, SgCT Mohammad Ishaq Shah, Constable Mushtaq Ahmad and Constable Farooq Ahmad Mir. Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched a massive search operation to nab the militants responsible for the attack.
