Chandigarh, Oct 19 (UNI) Sirsa Dera Sachcha Sauda spokesman on Saturday said that the Punjab government has provided ‘incomplete information’ to the Supreme Court in the sacrilege case.
The Supreme Court, on Friday removed the judicial block that had stalled prosecution of Dera Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in three sacrilege cases involving the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhs.
The Supreme Court also issued a notice to Gurmeet Singh, requiring his response within four weeks.
Dera spokesperson Advocate Jitendra Khurana said in a statement that the petition presented by the Punjab government contains incomplete information.
“We will soon submit a legal response in the Apex Court with complete facts,” said Khurana adding that, previously when they had presented all the facts before the Punjab and Haryana High Court, it granted a stay on the matter.
He said that they were confident that when they present all the facts before the Supreme Court, justice will be served.
Ram Rahim Singh, who is serving 20 years imprisonment after being sentenced for raping two of his disciples and convicted for the murder of Journalist Ramchander Chhattrapati, is currently on parole of 20 days, which he got on October 2, ahead of Haryana Assembly Election.
