In a first, Delhi CM launches MLA’s mobile office to address public issues at doorsteps

New Delhi, 20 Sep (UNI) In a first of its kind move towards public service for the residents of Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta today inaugurated the ‘MLA on Wheels’ initiative to bring governance closer to the people, eliminating the need for them to visit government offices to resolve their concerns repeatedly.

As part of this initiative, grievances, essential services and matters of public interest will be addressed directly within their local area through the ‘Government at Your Doorstep’ program, to benefit citizens with efficient processes, and transparent administration.

The Chief Minister said democracy is strengthened only when people’s problems are resolved at their doorsteps, adding that the greatest achievement of the mobile office is going to be that it will serve as a direct bridge between the government and the people.

Gupta also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always emphasised that the true meaning of leadership lies in service to the people.

She added that this unique initiative of her government has been inspired by the PM’s vision that an elected representative’s position is not one of power but of service and dedication.

The office which has been placed in a van will travel throughout the constituency, reaching people directly, registering their grievances, and forwarding them to the concerned departments.

A laptop, stenographer, and clerk will bee in the vehicle to ensure that people’s concerns are properly recorded and immediately passed on for prompt action.

This mobile office is equipped with Wi-Fi, microphones, and seating for up to 10 people, enabling it to travel anywhere and listen to public grievances.
