New Delhi, Aug 5 (UNI) Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested illegal liquor suppliers, carrying 1496 liquor bottles, in Shahdara district.
Upon receiving the information, the ANTF team intercepted a car near Shahdara Flyover yesterday. The team seized cartons containing 1,496 bottles (180 ml each) of country-made liquor marked “For sale in Haryana only” from the vehicle.
The two occupants of the vehicle were identified as Mohit Kumar (23), a resident of Rohna village in Sonipat, Haryana, and Sandeep Chand (44), of Amar Colony, Nangloi. Both were taken into custody.
Police said Mohit Kumar has 14 previous cases registered against him while Sandeep Chand has 12 past involvements. A voucher related to the consignment was also recovered from their possession.
A case was registered under Section 33 and Section 58 of the Delhi Excise Act at ANTF, Shahdara.
Further interrogation is underway to determine the source and intended destination of the illegal consignment.
