Illegal firecrackers factory busted in Khandwa

Bhopal, (UNI) The police in Khandwa city of Madhya Pradesh busted an illegal firecrackers factory in a colony, and seized almost two tonnes of gunpowder, sulphur and other material used to manufacture crackers from the spot.
Police officials claimed that the main accused is a Congress leader named Professor Imran Paryani. The police said Paryani has served as a state spokesperson of the Youth Congress in the past. Khandwa SP Manoj Kumar Rai said on Tuesday that the factory was busted inside the Samyak Gold colony on the outskirts of the city. It was being operated on the roof of the colony’s clubhouse building.
The colony is currently inhabited and in a dilapidated condition. It was being constructed about 15 years ago on the land belonging to former minister Hiralal Silawat. The land is currently in the name of Silawat’s son Yashwant. A police team led by Kotwali TI Praveen Arya conducted the raid. The police detained the driver of a pick up truck from the site.
The TI said that a case has been registered at Kotwali Police Station under the Explosives Act, and legal action is underway. Police teams are making efforts to arrest the main accused. The SP has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for the police team that carried out the raid.
