Illegal colonies are not accepted

State Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has admitted that there is a nexus of illegal colony developers in MP. There is a problem of illegal colonies in cities. He said that the state government is making strict laws to stop illegal colonies and instructions have been given to the officers to make laws.

During the question hour, BJP members Hardeep Singh Dung and then Rajendra Pandey raised this issue. In response to the question, Minister Vijayvargiya said that the government has not issued any instructions to convert illegal colonies into legal colonies, rather provisions have been made in the Madhya Pradesh Nagar Palika Colony Vikas Rules-2021 to provide civil infrastructure and building permit in the identified unauthorized colonies that came into existence before the prescribed period in urban areas. He said that we are not legalizing illegal colonies but are giving permission for infrastructure development in such colonies. Calling it the problem of the state, he said that when we go to the elections, we promise development and facilities to everyone, after winning the elections, they demand civic facilities from us. The minister said that not only in Suwasra but in most places of the state, there is a dispute regarding the land of bodies and revenue, for this, instructions are being given to the collectors to resolve it, he said that he will give permission in the next three months.

In response to the question of Dr. Rajendra Pandey, the minister said that there is a difference between illegal and unauthorized. Development is being done in unauthorized colonies, so that they can take loans and get facilities. In future, strict laws are going to be made to stop illegal colonies, he said that if a mortgaged plot is sold, strict action will be taken against the seller, in any case, registration of a mortgaged plot cannot be done.
