Bhopal, The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya (IGRMS) is set to launch a new temporary exhibition celebrating the rich folk and cultural traditions of Punjab starting November 29, 2025. The exhibition is part of the museum’s ongoing “People of India” series, dedicated to showcasing the diverse cultures of different states through preserved artifacts.
= A taste of Punjab’s living heritage
The inauguration day promises a vibrant cultural immersion, allowing visitors to experience the “living cultural splendor of Punjab.” From noon onwards, attendees can enjoy the authentic Punjabi cuisine, explore and purchase handicraft samples, and listen to melodious Punjabi music.
The grand highlight will be at 4 PM with special performances of the renowned folk dances, Giddha and Bhangra. A unique attraction will be a thrilling demonstration of Gatka, the traditional and historic 800-year-old Punjabi martial art.
Museum Director Prof. Dr. Amitabh Pandey encouraged all art lovers, students, and citizens to attend the exhibition to appreciate Punjab’s rich cultural heritage, music, dance, attire, and cuisine.
