Bhopal: In a major step toward environmental protection and public awareness, a massive tree plantation campaign will be held in Bhopal on Tuesday. The event is jointly organized by the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, Bhopal Municipal Corporation and Bhojpal Mitra Parishad and Bhoj Information Technology.
A total of 5,100 saplings will be planted—4,000 in the campus of Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya at Shyamala Hills, and 1,100 across 85 selected wards of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will attend the program as the Chief Guest. The event will be presided over by Shri Ashan Pandey, Prant Sangh Chalak, RSS, Madhya Bharat Prant. Other special guests include Cabinet Minister Shri Narayan Singh Kushwaha, MLA Shri Bhagwandas Sabnani, and Mayor Smt. Malti Rai.
Public participation will include social organizations, educational institutions, school students, and volunteers. Museum Director Prof. Amitabh Pandey SAId that this initiative aims to establish Bhopal as a “Green Capital.” The event will begin at 10:30 am, and entry is free for all.
