Bhopal: The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya in Bhopal is organizing three special workshops during summer vacations to engage participants with India’s rich craft traditions.\
The “Vistara” workshop, running from May 13 to 22, 2025, features renowned artists from Alwar, Rajasthan, including Ganga Sahay Prajapati, Premchand, and Jeetu, who provide practical training in pottery and terracotta art. Coordinated by Mrs. Garima Anand and Dr. Soma Kiro, the workshop is scheduled in two sessions to accommodate participants of all ages. Attendees will learn traditional pottery techniques while creating five diyas, gaining insight into the cultural significance of the art.
The “Do and Learn” training workshop showcases the talents of tribal artists, including Mrs. Shakuntala Kushram, Jangal Singh Bhagoria, and Mrs. Rukmani Devi, who teach various painting styles.
Another workshop on Relief Work from May 11 to 17, 2025, led by sculptor modelers Sanjay Sapre and K. Sheshadri, focuses on creating figures and sculptures from clay.
These workshops foster creativity and cultural harmony, attracting enthusiastic participation from housewives, children, and art lovers. The museum plans to host additional workshops in May and June, furthering its commitment to preserving and promoting traditional crafts in India.
