ICC rankings boost for India, Australia women

Dubai, Feb 24 (UNI) Women’s cricket teams from India and Australia have made significant gains in the latest ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings following their closely contested series in Australia.
India seamer Arundhati Reddy achieved a career-best ranking, climbing five places to 11th among T20I bowlers after finishing as the leading wicket-taker in the series with eight scalps, as per the International Cricket Council (ICC) website.
Her teammate Shree Charani also progressed, jumping 11 spots to 26th.
Among Australians, Annabel Sutherland moved up two places to second in the bowling rankings, while Ashleigh Gardner climbed two positions to 18th. The bowling chart continues to be led by Sadia Iqbal of Pakistan women’s cricket team.
Gardner also advanced one spot to third in the T20I all-rounders’ rankings.
In the batting rankings, Australia’s Georgia Voll made a remarkable leap of 26 places to joint 10th, while teammate Phoebe Litchfield rose four spots to 12th. India batter Jemimah Rodrigues also gained one position to reach joint 10th.
Veteran Australian opener Beth Mooney retained her place at the top of the T20I batting rankings.
Meanwhile, the latest ODI rankings also saw movement following matches involving South Africa women’s cricket team, Sri Lanka women’s cricket team, West Indies women’s cricket team, and Pakistan women’s cricket team.
South Africa’s Sune Luus climbed four places to 30th among ODI batters and rose five spots to 17th in the all-rounders’ list. Teammate Marizanne Kapp moved up to second in the ODI all-rounders’ rankings behind Gardner.
Spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba improved to equal ninth among ODI bowlers, while Karishma Ramharack of the West Indies rose four places to 26th.
