Greater Noida। The Himveer Wives Welfare Association (HWWA), an organisation dedicated to the welfare of families of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), celebrated its 33rd Raising Day at the 39th Battalion ITBP, Greater Noida, with great enthusiasm. The event placed strong emphasis on women empowerment and self-reliance.
Addressing the gathering, Mrs Bharati Kapur, President, HWWA, highlighted the wide range of welfare initiatives undertaken for Himveer families and outlined future plans. She elaborated on the impact of Himanshi Outlets and Bakers’ Shops established across various ITBP formations, stating that these initiatives provide quality handicraft products and food items from remote and border areas at affordable prices. She noted that the initiatives have also contributed to employment generation, reduced migration and strengthened local economies.
Mrs Kapur further informed that HWWA continues to organise vocational training programmes for women members and children of Himveer families, thereby enhancing skill development and expanding employment opportunities.
The programme was graced by renowned Indian film actress Ms Raveena Tandon as the Chief Guest, who appreciated HWWA’s sustained and meaningful efforts towards the welfare and empowerment of Himveer families.
On the occasion, HWWA’s annual souvenir ‘Himshikha’, themed on women empowerment, was released in both physical and digital formats. The publication features articles, editorials and poems contributed by members and children, along with a comprehensive overview of the Association’s activities throughout the year.
