Kangra, (UNI) In a major action against drug and liquor trafficking, Nurpur police have seized a huge consignment of illicit country liquor and arrested one person in a special enforcement drive.
Under the jurisdiction of Jawali police station, the police intercepted a vehicle at a checkpoint in Samkehda and recovered 100 cartons containing 1,200 bottles of illegal country liquor.
The accused, identified as Vishal Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar, a resident of VPO Jawali, Tehsil Jawali, Kangra district, was arrested on the spot.
Confirming the operation, Additional Superintendent of Police, Nurpur, Bhupeshan Verma said a case has been registered against the accused under Section 39(1)(a) of the Himachal Pradesh Excise Act, and further investigation is underway as per law.
