Bhopal: Barkatullah University (BU) is rolling out a stringent, high-tech monitoring system to ensure its graduate supplementary examinations, starting November 17, are fair and cheat-free.
Responding to rampant malpractice in previous exams—including cheating via mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, and even slips hidden in socks and handkerchiefs—the administration has imposed a strict ban on all electronic gadgets.
Security Boost
Intense Scrutiny: All 35,000 students from 254 colleges will undergo intensive searches before entering the 54 exam centres across seven districts.
Flying Squads: BU has formed three special flying squads dedicated to conducting surprise inspections and taking immediate action against any detected irregularities.
Focus on Integrity: The move aims to drastically reduce cheating cases; over 100 such cases were registered during the last examinations.
The supplementary exams, originally scheduled for August but delayed due to late annual results, will use prominent centres in Bhopal like Hamidia College and Motilal Vigyan College. BU warns students that any attempt to cheat will result in immediate disciplinary action.
