Bhopal: The biggest cowshed of the district will be built in Barkhedi Dob, 20 km from Bhopal. 10 thousand cattle can be kept in it at a time. CM Dr. Mohan Yadav will perform Bhoomi Pujan on 23 November at 10 am. On this occasion, Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy (Independent Charge) Lakhan Patel will also be present.

Recently MLA Rameshwar Sharma, Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh inspected the gaushala which will have a capacity of 10 thousand cows.

Under the leadership of CM Dr. Yadav, the current year (from Chaitra month to Falgun month) is being celebrated in the state as the year of cow conservation and cow development. Keeping this in view, there is a plan to build a state-of-the-art Gau Shala with a capacity of 10 thousand cows in Barkhedi Dob, Bhopal. The Gau Shala is being built in an area of about 25 acres. In this, along with the modern maintenance of cows, a medical ward equipped with all the resources for their treatment will also be constructed. There will be a system of continuous monitoring through CCTV in the Gau-Shala.

The construction work of the Gau-Shala costing about Rs 15 crore will be done by the Rural Engineering Department, while the Municipal Corporation and Animal Husbandry Department will be the nodal agencies. The Gau-Shala will be financed by the Smart City Project and the District Panchayat. The Gau-Shala will be operated by the Municipal Corporation.

The Gau-Shala will be constructed in three phases, in which a capacity of about 2000 animals will be built in the first phase.

In this state-of-the-art Gau-Shala, straw, green grass, animal feed etc. will be delivered to the cows through conveyor belt. Various materials will be prepared from the dung and urine of cows in the Gau-Shala and a plant will also be installed for the production of organic fertilizer. A medical ward is also being built for the treatment of animals living in the Gau-Shala and animals getting injured and sick on the roads.
