- Kaliasot dam gates opened in Bhopal

Heavy rains continued in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday as well. In Bhopal, showers have been continuing intermittently during the last 24 hours. Kaliasot dam’s gates were opened on Sunday as the dam reached FTL.
Flood-like conditions have been created at many places due to continuous rains. Its maximum impact was seen in Bundelkhand and Vindhyan region, where all the rivers and streams are in spate due to continuous rains.
Dr Abhijit Chakraborty, Senior Scientist of Meteorological Centre, said that due to a deep depression and a trough line formed in the north-eastern part of the state, continuous rains occurred in Sagar, Damoh, Panna and other places of Bundelkhand region of the state during the last 24 hours. Flood-like conditions have been created at many places due to rains. At the same time, other rivers and streams including major rivers are in spate.
Along with this, continuous rains continue in Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli and other places of Vindhyan region. Due to this, many rivers and streams there are in spate. During the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 231.4 mm was recorded in Katni. Apart from this, Maihar received 187.2 mm rainfall, Shahdol received 175 mm rainfall, Damoh received 181 mm rainfall, Rewa received 145 mm rainfall, Sagar received 144.1 mm rainfall and Singrauli received 140.2 mm rainfall.
Apart from this, Sidhi received 136.5 mm rainfall, Sehore received 181 mm rainfall, Jabalpur received 129 mm rainfall, Chhatarpur’s Khajuraho received 93.6 mm rainfall, Satna received 109.1 mm rainfall, Umaria received 100.2 mm rainfall and capital Bhopal received 63.4 mm rainfall. Light to moderate rainfall was also recorded at other places in the state.
During the last 24 hours, heavy rains continued at many places in Rewa district. Due to this, the main river Behar is flowing in spate, while many rivers and streams are also in spate.
