Heavy rain and thunderstorm alert issued for Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal: The monsoon has regained momentum in Madhya Pradesh, with the Meteorological Department issuing a heavy rain and thunderstorm alert for many districts over the next 24 hours. This has raised concerns about potential waterlogging in low-lying areas and the increased risk of lightning strikes in rural regions.

The weather forecast indicates that a monsoon trough is extending from Bikaner to the Bay of Bengal, passing through Kota, Guna, and Damoh. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation active over Vidarbha and its surrounding areas is contributing to intense downpours and thunderstorms across the state.

Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Datia, Rewa, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Mandla, Balaghat, Rajgarh, Sehore, and Raisen.

An alert for very heavy rain has been issued for the districts of Betul, Harda, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Alirajpur, Dhar, and Pandhurna.
