Heavy rain alert in Guna

Thunderstorms and downpours expected across Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal, The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Guna and Sheopur Kalan districts in Madhya Pradesh, forecasting extremely heavy rainfall on Thursday. The alert comes amid continued monsoon activity across the state.

In addition to the red alert, an orange alert has been issued for the districts of Vidisha, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Rajgarh, Morena, Damoh, and Sagar, where very heavy rainfall is expected.

= Widespread rain likely across the state

According to meteorologists, thunderstorms accompanied by rain are also likely in Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Bhopal, and Raisen. These areas are under a yellow alert, indicating the possibility of moderate rainfall and lightning activity.

The forecast suggests that rainfall will persist across most districts in Madhya Pradesh over the coming days, with varying intensity.

= Rain predicted in over 30 districts

Other districts likely to experience rain include:

* Betul, Harda, Ujjain, Dewas, Shajapur, Agar, Mandsaur, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Sehore, Balaghat, Panna

* Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Mauganj, Satna, Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, and Mandla

The weather department has urged residents in the affected regions to stay alert and take necessary precautions as intense rainfall may lead to waterlogging, disruption in transportation, and potential flood-like situations in low-lying areas.
