Heavy monsoon rains bring relief in MP

  • Cause temperature fluctuations

Bhopal: The monsoon remained active across Madhya Pradesh over the last 24 hours, bringing significant rainfall to several regions and causing temperatures to fluctuate. While many parts of the state received much-needed downpours, the weather has been unpredictable.

Heavy rainfall was reported in most districts of the Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, and Ujjain divisions, while the Jabalpur division received moderate rain. Lighter showers were recorded in the Rewa, Gwalior, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions, while the rest of the state remained mostly dry.

Temperature swings and forecast

Temperatures across the state have been varied. The Rewa and Shahdol divisions saw a slight dip in maximum temperatures, but other parts of the state remained hot. Maximum temperatures in the Gwalior, Rewa, Jabalpur, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions were recorded at 1.6 to 3.0 degrees Celsius above normal, while in Bhopal, Narmadapuram and Ujjain, they were even higher, at 3.2 to 4.6 degrees Celsius above the average.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for the coming days, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall in the Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and Narmadapuram divisions. Residents and farmers in these regions have been advised to remain cautious and prepared for the upcoming rains.
