HC seeks clarification on MSc Nursing admissions in MP

By Special Correspondent

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh High Court on Friday heard a petition filed by NSUI state vice-president Ravi Parmar and others, raising serious concerns over alleged irregularities in the MSc Nursing admission process conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Nurses Registration Council. Parmar has been questioning the process for a long time and had earlier been prevented from appearing in the entrance examination, before being allowed to do so following High Court intervention. He has now again approached the court over the admission procedure.

During the hearing, counsel for the petitioners, Advocate Abhishek Pandey, strongly argued that the MSc Nursing admissions were being handled arbitrarily. The High Court treated the matter as serious and directed the counsel for the Madhya Pradesh Nurses Registration Council to remain present on 15 December.

The court also noted that although a counselling schedule for Post BSc and MSc Nursing had been issued, the council’s website was non-functional, causing severe difficulties to eligible candidates. Reference was made to a letter sent by the council to the Indian Nursing Council (INC), citing a Supreme Court order dated 3 December 2025, which clearly stated that candidates who appeared in the entrance examination should not face obstacles in admission.

The High Court questioned why, despite the Supreme Court extending the admission deadline for nursing courses till 31 December 2025, MSc Nursing had been excluded, and sought a clear explanation from the INC. The matter will be heard next on 15 December.
