Harmanpreet rues late-order wickets

Visakhapatnam, Oct 13 (UNI) India Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur tonight reflected on her team’s performance, saying that the side started well but failed to capitalise in the final overs.
“Today the way we started, we could have got 30-40 more runs, but we kept losing wickets in the last 6-7 overs. It was a good batting wicket, and we didn’t fully capitalise,” she said.
Harmanpreet praised the opening batswomen for giving consistent starts in recent games, which helped the team post strong totals. She added that while the first 40 overs were solid, the last 10 overs were not executed as well, noting that fluctuations are part of the game.
“You are not going to be 100% all the time, but it’s very important how you come back,” she said, highlighting the positives from the match and the importance of the next two games.
The captain also lauded Shree Charani’s performance, saying she has been “outstanding” and consistently provides breakthroughs when the team needs them.
On team strategy, Harmanpreet said discussions on combination will continue, adding that the current lineup has brought past success and two poor games will not significantly affect their approach moving forward.
