On the third day of Tulsi Manas Pratishthan’s Pt. Gorelal Shukla Smriti Samaroh in Pandit Ramkinkar Auditorium, Maharajshree Pandit Umashankar Vyas said in the sermon that in Shri Ram’s marriage, Lord Shri Ram is described as riding a horse as the groom.
It is described that this horse is very fickle, its spiritual meaning is that this horse is the form of lust, which affects our mind. The fickleness of the mind can end only with the love of Ram. That is why in RamcharitManas, two marriages are described in the Bal Kand. The first marriage is of Lord Shiva, who goes to the wedding procession sitting on a bull, here bull is a symbol of religion, hence in Sanatan culture, how to control lust through religion. This is told through marriage. Explaining the spiritual meaning of the horse’s dance, he said that Maya makes us all dance, but by taking refuge in Mayapati, we are not affected by Maya, otherwise the living being has to travel through many births. Marriage has special importance in Indian culture, but our sages have allowed the restrained use of sex along with religion so that along with the smooth functioning of the world, the meaning of human life can also be achieved. The spiritual meaning of Ram Vivah is that we hand over the reins of sex to Ram.
In the inauguration of the program, Chief Guest Minister Prahlad Patel said that it is our good fortune that we all participate in this discourse tradition of Tulsi Manas Pratishthan. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda said that Ramcharit Manas teaches us about every aspect of life. Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram’s modesty, dignity, patience, compassion, courage, bravery and his politics are exemplary for all of us even today.
