Bogota, July 17 (UNI) The Hague Group, comprising of about 30 countries took “coordinated legal and diplomatic measures” against Israel, announcing a suspension of trade in weapons and military goods with the Jewish state, as well as a ban on Israeli ships.
“We hereby announce the following measures … Prevent the provision or transfer of arms, munitions, military fuel, related military equipment, and dual-use items to Israel … Prevent the transit, docking, and servicing of vessels at any port … Prevent the carriage of arms, munitions, military fuel, related military equipment, and dual-use items to Israel on vessels bearing our flag,” a joint statement read yesterday.
Following a ministerial meeting in Bogota, the Hague Group member states agreed to prevent transactions between their government agencies and Israel and to “commence an urgent review of all public contracts, to prevent public institutions and funds from supporting Israel’s illegal occupation of the Palestinian Territory and entrenching its unlawful presence.”
The document was signed by Bolivia, Cuba, Colombia, Indonesia, Iraq, Libya, Malaysia, Namibia, Nicaragua, Oman, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and South Africa.
