Students honored teachers with heartfelt speeches, poems, and mementos, reaffirming the timeless guru-shishya tradition. Special assemblies and cultural programs marked the occasion, reflecting profound gratitude for educators’ invaluable contributions.
BSSS honors five teachers
The Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) grandly celebrated Guru Purnima today, commencing with an online address by CM Dr. Mohan Yadav. He lauded the guru’s glory, connecting it to India’s progress through education.
BSSS Principal Dr. Father John P.J. emphasized the role of culture in true knowledge. The highlight was the felicitation of five distinguished teachers: Dr. Dharmendra Bahadur Singh, Dr. Smita Pillai, Dr. Anuradha Goswami, Dr. Vishal Singh Sengar, and invited Guru Dr. Pooja Sharma, who received shawls and coconuts, upholding the sacred tradition of honoring educators. Vice Principal Dr. Sr. Lima Jacob extended her wishes, underscoring the deep respect for Gurus.
Guru Purnima and Vidya Arambh at Seva Vidya Mandir
Pran Baldev Bhandari Seva Vidya Mandir, a Seva Bharti initiative, joyfully celebrated Guru Purnima and Vidya Arambh Sanskar for its newest students today. The event commenced with traditional havan and pujan.
Nursery, KG-1, and KG-2 students were ceremonially initiated into learning, guided to write “Om” and “Shri” on slates. Principal Pankaj Chandele and other dignitaries underscored the Guru-Shishya tradition’s importance and respect for educators. Teachers were honored with coconuts and pens, and prasad was distributed, fostering an atmosphere of reverence and joy.
Shri Vinayakam School celebrates Guru Purnima with musical Sunderkand
Shri Vinayakam School marked Guru Purnima with heartfelt devotion on Thursday. The celebration began with traditional lamp lighting before idols of Maa Saraswati, Shri Guru Charan, and Shri Ram Darbar.
Students from Nursery to Grade 12, along with teachers and staff, then participated in a collective musical Sunderkand. Students also offered prayers to Maa Saraswati and their Gurus. Director Sanjay Rathore highlighted the day’s significance and extended his warm wishes.
Guru Purnima Celebrated with Grandeur at Vidya Praman Gurukulam
“Know the Guru, find him, and become his – this is the path of self-improvement,” proclaimed Muni Shri Praman Sagar Maharaj at the Guru Purnima celebrations at Vidya Praman Gurukulam, Awadhpuri. Addressing a large gathering including devotees from across India and even Bangkok, he emphasized that the Guru is an inner force illuminating the soul with knowledge.
The grand event featured Abhishek and a 55-minute Shantidhara for Shri Ji, along with the revered tradition of washing the Guru’s feet. A moving moment was the Jain initiation of 8-year-old Purudev from Bangkok, whose devotion touched all present. Muni Shri Praman Sagar Maharaj stressed that true transformation requires complete surrender to the Guru.
The celebration also marked the 10th Diksha anniversary of Muni Shri Sandhan Sagar Maharaj, who expressed gratitude for Acharya Vidya Sagar Maharaj’s guidance. The day concluded with musical worship and resounding praises for Acharya Shri Vidya Sagar Maharaj and Acharya Samay Sagar Maharaj, as numerous devotees participated in the Guru’s feet-washing ritual with deep devotion.
