New Delhi, Dec 27 (UNI) Remembering Guru Gobind Singh, union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said he is the symbol of struggle against injustice, resistance against oppression, and protection of humanity.
Shah, on the occasion of revered Sikh Guru’s birth anniversary, said he made the supreme sacrifice of his life, his sons and Mata Gujri for the sake of religion and culture.
Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary is being observed across various places of the country, while religious events are also taking place in the country and abroad on the occasion.
The events are taking place to commemorate the tenth Sikh Guru’s birth anniversary, but also to remember the supreme sacrifice made by his sons and mother.
Shah has also said that the Panch Pyare of the Guru Gobind Singh, who contributed in making Sikhism a strong pillar of service as well as protection through the establishment of the Khalsa Panth, became synonymous with protection of human society across the nation.
Notably, the Panch Pyare are referred to the ‘Five Beloved,’ the five Sikh men who were first initiated into the Khalsa tradition by Guru Gobind SIngh.
Earlier, Shah had recently said that the saga of valor of Guru’s Sahibzadas (sons) is synonymous with renunciation, dedication, and sacrifice for the motherland.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Guru Gobind Singh’s life and teachings inspire an individual to stand for truth, justice, righteousness and also protect human dignity.
