Patna, Sept 21 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the revised GST regime is projected to contribute positively to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
In his social media post, Kumar said that on the auspicious first day of Navratri, the revised Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates have come into force across the country. By lowering the cost of essential goods and encouraging higher consumption, the revised GST regime is projected to contribute positively to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Welcoming the reforms, Kumar expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking this decisive step.
He said the new GST rates will provide relief to every section of society, especially the lower and middle-income groups.
With essential commodities becoming cheaper, households are expected to save more on their daily purchases. “This reform will ease the burden on common citizens, as basic items for day-to-day use will now cost less,” Kumar maintained.
He said the move could further strengthen the economic growth.
Describing the decision as historic, he said the reform reflects the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi and “GST reform has brought happiness to every household.”
