Green service started on vehicle portal to make roads pollution-free

  • High security registration plate installed on 7 lakh old vehicles

Bhopal, To keep the roads in the state pollution-free, a green service has been started on the vehicle portal of the National Information Center (NIC), on which the confirmation of the certified CNG kit being retrofitted in vehicles is present. The operation of the vehicle portal is being done by the Transport Department.

Pollution Control Certificate

To control the harmful gases emitted from vehicles in the state, obtaining a pollution control certificate has been made mandatory. In the state, all vehicle pollution testing centers have been integrated with the NIC’s PUCC portal to ensure the transparent issuance of online pollution control certificates. With the issuance of online PUCC (Pollution Under Control Certificate), their data is being displayed on the vehicle portal. With this facility, on being asked for the certificate by the checking officer, it can be shown by the vehicle owner online or in electronic form.

High Security Registration Plate

Keeping the safety of vehicles in mind, the work of installing High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) on vehicles is being done by the Transport Department through vehicle dealers. So far, about 7 lakh old registered vehicles in the state have been fitted with High Security Registration Plates. With the installation of High Security Registration Plates, tracing it becomes easy in case of vehicle theft.

Automated Testing Station

Efforts are being made by the Transport Department to effectively stop the operation of unfit vehicles, keeping road safety in mind. For this purpose, it has been made mandatory by the Central Road Transport and Highways Ministry to issue fitness certificates only after automated testing of vehicles. Automated Testing Stations (ATS) have become operational in Gwalior, Indore and Bhopal to check the fitness of vehicles in a transparent manner without human intervention. Along with this, primary registration certificates have been issued for the establishment of Automated Testing Stations in 22 districts of the state.

Driving Training Center

In the state, out of the average 50,000 road accidents happening every year, 78 percent road accidents occur due to the fault of the vehicle driver. With the aim of reducing road accidents, a decision has been taken to establish training centers at three levels—regional, divisional, and district—for training vehicle drivers. On the initiative of Union Government, Institute of Driving Training and Research Centers are being operated in Indore and Chhindwara. Apart from this, efforts are being made to start driving institutes in Chhatarpur and 10 other places.
