New Delhi, July 8 (UNI) Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Monday expressed concern over the alleged “Chinese infiltration” and said silence maintained by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government on the issue was dangerous.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on microblogging site X that there are reports that while continuing its infiltration activities in Arunachal Pradesh, China is now building bunkers in the Ladakh region too.
There were 65 patrolling points on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), out of which 26 have been captured, Vadra said.
She said, “China has settled its villages in Indian territory and is also building bunkers. Nearly 4,000 square kilometres of Indian land have been captured by China, and the country has released a list of 30 places in Arunachal Pradesh with changed names.”
“We have lost 26 out of our 65 patrol points on the LAC. The media is saying all these things, and this information is publicly available. But Prime Minister Modi is still saying that no one has entered,” she said.
The Congress leader wanted to know from the Prime Minister, “Under what pressure is the Modi government making so many compromises with regards to India’s border security and integrity?”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday raised the issue of Chinese infiltration, saying, “China continues to be belligerent on occupying out territory and constructing a military base at Sirijap, reportedly a land that was under Indian control?”.
Kharge said that the Congress demands to take the nation into confidence on the LAC situation.
